Life Stresses

db'07 - pisa stairs, italyStress is a common portion of today’s society. Stress, in simplest terms, is a sense that something is “wrong” inside. The wrong might be a job, a relationship, a schedule or even a dream or goal that gets pushed to a back burner. Stress comes from being hurried, from being burdened by work and relationships that are unfulfilling. Stress comes from being caught in doing what you really don’t want to do. Stress comes from old fears and hurts that have never been finished or resolved.  Stress should be a minimal part of daily life. Today, however, our culture is overstressed to the point of a sense of being overwhelmed. Stress is now a routine part of our children’s lives as well as an adult concern. Stress is a precursor to reduced academic performance, relational conflict, professional disappointment, and even to physical deterioration.

Drs Johnson and Brock believe that stress can be minimized with a “truth based” therapy. Truth based therapy is not a technique but a philosophy. Both Dr Johnson and Dr Brock know multiple therapeutic techniques and styles.  Most any therapy technique can be truth based if applied with the understanding that you know your truth better than anyone else, including the therapist! We believe that you ultimately know what is best and our job is to help you re-discover your truth through various therapeutic tools and practices. Therapeutic tools are just that, tools.  Unlike some “counseling” where the client is told what they should do, given assignments, or advised, Ron and Deb puts the emphasis on helping the client know their strengths as well as their limitations so that their truth becomes more clear. Both Ron and Deb have engaged in their own therapy over the years and know the value of quality therapy that is based in honoring an individual’s inner truth, regardless of which tools are used to accomplish the end result.
