Trauma Resolution

Everyone knows that bad things happen.  When bad things happen and we are shifted from a state of normal “safe” living into a state of threat we can become traumatized.  If we don’t have sufficient resources to understand what has occurred and/or we don’t have an environment to support us and assist our recovery we often end up with chronic difficulties that can include anxiety disorders, panic attacks, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or, an enduring daily discontent and self doubt robbing us of simple joy and confidence.

Life Stresses

db'07 - pisa stairs, italyStress is a common portion of today’s society. Stress, in simplest terms, is a sense that something is “wrong” inside. The wrong might be a job, a relationship, a schedule or even a dream or goal that gets pushed to a back burner. Stress comes from being hurried, from being burdened by work and relationships that are unfulfilling. Stress comes from being caught in doing what you really don’t want to do. Stress comes from old fears and hurts that have never been finished or resolved.  Stress should be a minimal part of daily life. Today, however, our culture is overstressed to the point of a sense of being overwhelmed. Stress is now a routine part of our children’s lives as well as an adult concern. Stress is a precursor to reduced academic performance, relational conflict, professional disappointment, and even to physical deterioration.
