Psychotherapy in our office always begins with an extensive Intake Evaluation and Social History. This Intake Evaluation includes first sitting with the individual and hearing what is important to them and to find out why they have come. Then, we direct the client through their personal history. The process of psychotherapy deals with any or all of the following matters:
The course of psychotherapy can be short or long depending on the needs and interests of the client and the complexity of the client‘s life situation. Some issues can be resolved in short order when an effective assessment takes place. More often, however, psychotherapy requires longer periods of time so that the development of self-understanding and self-acceptance can lead to productive resolution of the presenting difficulty. |
